"Ernst Pepping - Now and Forever" is the name of the new CD just released on the TACET label. Lyrics by Johann Wolfgang Goethe can be heard in Pepping's most important secular work.

Sächsisches Vocalensemble – Winner of the 2002 Cannes Classical Award

The Sächsisches Vocalensemble, based in Dresden, was awarded the Cannes Classical Award 2002 in the category: Choral Music 17th /18th Century for its CD "Johann Sebastian Bach - The Motets". The CD was produced in 2001 and appeared under the TACET label. Matthias Jung, Artistic Director of the ensemble, was present in Cannes to accept the award on behalf of the choir.
The Cannes Classical Awards were founded seven years ago and are organised by eight leading international Classical Music magazines. The purpose of the awards is to acknowledge outstanding recordings in the field of Classical Music. Each year hundreds of music critics, from Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Spain and the United States are assembled to vote on entries in twenty different categories. The awards are presented during the MIDEM International Music Congress in the French city of Cannes.
Other entries for 2002 included the Kammerchor Stuttgart under Frieder Bernius with Zelenka's "Missa Die Patri" as well as "Nikolaus Harnoncourt" recording of Bach's "St. Matthew Passion".
